Equilibrium & The Equinox

5 E'S For Balance and Ease

During the Equinox as the sun crosses the celestial equator and marks the autumnal or vernal equinox (respective to the Northern and Souththern Hemispheres) and the daylight and night time hours become more equal it is a great time to go within and see where you are feeling balanced and in flow with life and where you need an adjustment. Here are 5 "E's" to help you regain balance and ease in your life.

Energy Alignment

Aligning energy is one of the most powerful things you can do for overall health and well-being. A simple morning routine is all you need to set yourself up for a wonderful day where you feel connected to your inner being, energy flowing and a pleasant disposition. Many people get stuck from enjoying a morning practice because they feel they don't have time for it before work, school, family or other life responsibilities. The truth is that time expands according to our desires and a morning practice does not need to be an hour or even half hour experience. Even just 5 to 15 minutes of mindful breathing, stretching and meditation will calm your mind and balance your system. The more time you dedicate to a morning practice the more you will reap the benefits but the main thing is creating the time and space to connect with yourself at the beginning of the day.

Earthing is the science of connecting with the earth surface electrons by going barefoot, lying on the earth or conductive surfaces. As simple as this sounds the benefits are truly amazing. By connecting with the Earth's natural healing energy circulation and blood viscosity are improved, inflammation and pain are reduced, stress and anxiety are reduced, and energy levels and sleep are improved.

All of these elements together create an abundance of support for healing on all levels. Being in nature and making the physical contact are extremely beneficial alone but if you are unable to be barefoot often there are a number of grounding products that you can utilize anytime, while working or even sleeping and they offer great benefits.

Eleuthero also known as Siberian Ginseng, is one of my favorite herbs. It has a light, grounding and uplifting energy. It is the number one adaptogenic herb which means it helps the body adapt to physical and emotional stress.

Eleuthero prevents harmful changes in our biochemistry due to stress and brings the body into balance. It normalizes blood pressure whether high blood pressure or low blood pressure and it is also the number one thyroid regulator. It benefits the immune system, has anti-cancer properties and protects from the affects of chemotherapy and radiation.

It also improves athletic endurance, energy, sleep, mood and overall sense of well-being.

Equanimity will help you maintain clarity and balance. One spiritual truth is that life is constantly changing and nothing is permanent in the physical world. When you exercise equanimity knowing that there are opposites to everything; positive and negative, "good and bad" , yin and yang, easy and difficult, pleasing and painful aspects to all of life then you are able to maintain a deeper stability and clearer inner space during the highs and lows of life.

Live life in joy. Making the time to enjoy yourself is so important. It can be as simple as appreciating a beautiful flower, taking a walk, relaxing, enjoying the sunshine on your face, watching the sunset, or reading a good book.

Making the time to enjoy things that please you will make your soul sing.
